Developing communications — a matter that had been considered for a long time
The police department had identified a need to develop internal and customer communications for years before implementing the Fiscal InfoTV system. A previously evaluated alternative did not meet the requirements, so the matter remained pending until a suitable solution was found.
When the matter was revisited in 2010, Fiscal’s solution was evaluated. One key requirement was clear: from a security perspective, data had to remain on their own servers (not in an external cloud service) and separate from operational activities. Another requirement was simplicity: the system had to be so straightforward that staff would adopt it without extensive training.

Ten displays, two target groups, one system
The police department has a total of 10 information displays in use. Two of them are directed at customers in the customer service area, while the rest serve internal staff communications. Both operate through the same management system but display completely different content.

A critical requirement for the police department was met: all displayed information remains on the organization’s own computers. No external cloud services, no dependency on outside infrastructure. This resolved the security concerns that had caused the previous evaluation to be discontinued.

The service has been especially good. There haven’t been any actual problems, but even in normal situations the response has come almost immediately!
A Finnish provider also has symbolic significance: when the system is in Finnish and support operates in the native language, the barrier to making contact is lower — both in onboarding situations and in everyday questions.
